Lincoln High School Band Alumni Reunion Party and Fundraiser 2 Games of Bowling

by Mark H.
Pledge to Event

The Lincoln Bands have a rich history of excellence in music. Last year, our program began the trek back to its once great roots. As a result of our hard work, the LHS bands received 1st Division superior ratings at both MSBOA District and State Festivals, making it one of the best years in a long time. The students are eager to return for another exciting year of music.

Every LHS band alumni could probably tell a personal story about the positive impact band had on their life. Research shows that students in music programs do better in academics and have a higher graduation rate than students not in music. Music education is especially critical to students in lower socioeconomic districts, such as Van Dyke Public Schools. Since funding is limited, we must fundraise to ensure a quality instrumental music program.

Our goal is to raise $8500 to purchase concert band uniforms for the Symphonic Winds. The current uniform includes a matching band polo and then an array of different colored black pants/leggings/jeans, and an even bigger assortment of shoes. I want the students to feel proud of their appearance, and a more professional look will bring that sense of pride. Lincoln High School students sound as good as any other school we perform alongside and they deserve to have a uniform that brings focus to their musicianship.

Thank you for your support!
